This branch of Nero is in a rather handy little location within the West End Retail Park on Crow Road; for the slightly lazier Wendy that can't quite be bothered carrying their shopping too far, Cafe Nero is right next to Sainsbury's.
I have to commend Nero on their staff. The young gent who served me was just that: a perfect gentleman. He was chatty without being too pushy and he cheered me up after what had been a rather testing day at work! I had a lovely raspberry, orange and green tea cooler to refresh myself and settle into a cushy sofa whilst I waited to meet folk. For being so central (and right in front of a busy train-line), it feels very peaceful; the music isn't blaring, the ceilings are high and the lights seem quite muted giving this particular Nero an air of a relaxed library (minus the ever-present sarky librarian telling you to SSHH!)
To summarise, I was one hell of a lot more relaxed on leaving than I was going in. Much cheaper than a massage! -

This reminds me of a tale I used to tell. I once almost had a coffee date with Bonnie Tyler. I wanted to go for a Starbucks or a Costa, but she was holding out for a Nero...
I'll wait a moment for you to stop laughing.
Still waiting.
OK, stop it now, It's kinda creepy.
Anyway... this is a decent little stop off in the Crow Road retail park, tucked in between the supermarkets and offlicenses and oppostie the McDonalds. It's fairly big, seating is never a problem when I've been in here, and despite the size, the staff do a nice job in keeping things ticking over.
There's a fair few food options here from soups to sandwiches and all sorts of cakey, muffiny, biscuity goodness too. The coffee is a good standard, I'd have to put it above other chain stores. The Chai Latte in here is a particular treat to behold.
So... yeah. It's nothing that ,makes me go "OH WOW I GOTTA GO HERE!" but it's nothing that would put me off going back - the proverbial middle of the road review, folks.
Makes me wonder what Bonnie Tyler sees in the place... -

Good service. Good coffee. Annoying tho that you have to pay differently for coffee for staying in or taking away. I get if for food but for coffee this seems outrageous. Besides that not enough variety with food.
